Terms of Service
The contract between you and Law Academia UK Ltd.
Read carefully before enrolment.
1. About these terms
These terms of service (“Terms“) govern your access to and use of all services provided by Law Academia UK Ltd (“Law Academia UK“, “we“, “us” or “our“), a private limited company registered in England and Wales with registered office at 33 Cannon Street, London EC4M 5SB.
By enrolling in any of our programmes, creating an account on our platform, or accessing any of our materials, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not enrol or access our services.
These Terms form a binding contract between you and Law Academia UK Ltd. We may update them from time to time — material changes will be notified to enrolled students by email at least 30 days in advance.
2. The services we provide
Law Academia UK provides online preparation programmes for the Solicitors Qualifying
Examination (SQE) and the LLB foundation. Our programmes include:
Recorded lecture content delivered through our online platform.
Live workshops held via video conferencing, with recordings made available.
Mock examinations and practice questions.
Faculty messaging and feedback within stated office hours.
Access to a structured curriculum aligned with the SRA SQE assessment specification.
We do not award degrees. Our LLB Programme is preparation and supplementation only. The SQE assessments themselves are administered by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and conducted by Kaplan. We have no role in setting, administering, or marking the official SQE.
3. Enrolment and payment
3.1 Enrolment
Enrolment is confirmed when we have received your completed registration and full payment (or first instalment under a payment plan). Access is granted within 24 hours of confirmation.
3.2 Pricing
Current fees are published on our pricing page. All prices include UK VAT where applicable. Fees may change for future cohorts but will not change for cohorts already commenced.
3.3 Payment plans
We offer interest-free payment plans split across three equal monthly instalments. If an instalment fails to clear, we may suspend platform access until payment is brought up to date.
4. Refunds and cancellations
14-day cooling-off period. You may cancel within 14 days of enrolment for any reason and receive a full refund.
After 14 days, before cohort start. 75% refund.
Pass guarantee re-enrolment. Pass guarantee re-enrolment does not include cash refund and is conditional on completion of all weekly assignments and both full mock papers during your original cohort.
5. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must not share your account with anyone else. Sharing of course content, recordings, or proprietary materials is a material breach of these Terms and may result in immediate termination without refund.
6. Intellectual property
All course content, recordings, written materials, mock examinations, MCQs, and platform
software are the intellectual property of Law Academia UK Ltd or our licensors. You are granted a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the content for your own study during your enrolment period.
You may not copy, distribute, share, resell, or create derivative works from any of our materials. We use forensic watermarking on certain materials and pursue infringement claims when detected.
7. Pass guarantee terms
Our pass guarantee on SQE1 and SQE2 programmes provides free re-enrolment in the next
equivalent cohort if you satisfy all of the following:
You completed all weekly assignments during your original cohort.
You completed both full mock examinations during your original cohort.
You sat the actual SRA SQE assessment within four months of your original cohort end date.
You provide evidence of your SRA assessment result within 30 days of receiving it.
The guarantee covers programme access only. It does not cover SRA sitting fees, travel costs, or any other third-party expenses.
8. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. Subject to that, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with these Terms or our services is limited to the fees you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
We do not guarantee that you will pass any SRA SQE assessment. The pass guarantee is a re- enrolment commitment, not a financial guarantee of exam outcomes.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
